The Pešter plateau, with both its climate and altitude, is an ideal place for recreation, sports and acquire of physical form. Numerous sports teams from our country and abroad, used the climate benefits of this plateau for summer and winter preparations of sportsmen and sportswomen in many disciplines. A numbers of domestic and foreign national teams and first-league soccer and basketball teams have been preparing there. Sjenica has a new sports hall and football stadium in the city centre.

As assumed, the Pešter plateau, surrounded by its high mountains, is especially suitable for winter sports. Sjenica itself has been the source of skiing talents for decades. The Skiing Association of Sjenica is a multiple champion of Serbia in alpine sports disciplines, and local skiers were the traditional champions of ex-Yugoslavia in Nordic disciplines. Competitions in winter sports are held on the Glibanj path in Babinjača, 3 kilometers away from the city, on the road to Nova Varoš.

In the vicinity of Pešter, there are several centers for recreation, treatment and rehabilitation. The Institute for rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases is located on Zlatar Mountaim, the Centre for rest and recreation in Kušiće resort and in the village of Čedovo. At the entrance to Sjenica, there are springs of hot, thermal, medical water that local people use for bathing and healing.
