Institution of Culture -Sjenica is a public service founded for the purposes of fostering, developing of human, moral and artistic values of the citizens of Sjenica. It organizes all cultural events and coordinates the work of all cultural associations and individuals. There are three cultural and artistic societies which exist and work in the municipality of Sjenica: Associations of culture and arts KUD "JEDINSTVO", KUD "ŠTAVALJ" and KUD "NJEGOŠ"

• In March, the Institution of Culture in Sjenica organizes Municipal Poetry Recital Competition which assembles students from nine primary and two secondary schools. This is an opportunity for the youth of Sjenica to show their oratorical skills and present the beauty of our poetry the best way.
• In June, Sjenica and the Institution of Culture are the hosts of Artistic Colony "Pešter’s Views" whose artists have found inspiration in natural beauties of the Pešter plateau for almost fourteen years. Milić of Mačva-famous painter was also a participant of this colony at a time.
Great fortune composed of works of art is in the Institution of Culture Archive and its exhibitions have been displayed in the surrounding towns.
• Fiddle’s Eve is a traditional night of epic poetry.
It is organized in the winter months in either the cinema or theatre hall, or in the hall the church nearby. The organizer of this event is KUD “NJEGOŠ”, and participants are the fiddlers – champions of Serbia, Montenegro and Republic of Srpska. • "Tambour’s Eve" is organized there within the summer cultural stage, in which the tambour orchestras from the country and abroad take part. This event takes place in June, and the hosts are Sjenica’s tambours.

Folk customs
• Traditional congresses and ‘teferići’ are organized during the religious holidays being an opportunity for the people of vast Pester plateau to gather at the place where people meet each other and youth get to know each other. The councils are the manifestations of folk dances dressed in national costumes, thus are the unique indicators of social status of certain families of the Pešter plateau. This is also demonstrated by specific ornamentation and dressing of young brides.
• Review of the sourcing creativity "Encounters of the Villages" is organized in May and it gathers associations and traditional groups of villages within the Sjenica municipality.
The manifestation is of a competitive nature. The most beautiful national costumes, the best choreography of the dances and the best songs of our region are being elected there.
The exhibition is public, so associations from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro can participate as well.
